We see lots of kittens, most of them produced in this home, and some we get from other breeders. I truly beleive that there is perfeect home for every cat – there are no bad cats, and no bad owners, there are wrong homes for the right cats!

Baloo was one of those gorgeous kittens which stands out of the litter. You enter the room and you see just him and do not pay attention to others. Shortly after he turned 8 weeks we noticed that he did not want human interaction as much as other kitties did. He was OK, just did not want us to pick him up.

He was sold long distance and i was worried that I did not see his future owners, so probably that is why we worked really hard on him accepting human interactions. at about 10 weeks we had a chance to take our kittens to the Vancouver Film School for the shoot out for CD covers but Baloo said – nope, I am staying home, so we left the most gorgeous kitten at home and took the rest of the litter with us!

O well, we worked and worked and had loud music and I would ask everybody to handle him and finally we started to see big improvement. Around 11 weeks he was not as shy and by 12-13 weeks he was actually looking at us humans saying – OK, you can touch me

Here are the words from his owner:

“He’s not shy at all anymore even with strangers. He loves to lounge all day on his back and he is a purring machine. The hippo is his favourite toy which he loves to wrestle with. We absolutely love him.. He’s about 8 lb now, twice as heavy as when we brought him home.”

Here is the pictures – just one more say, there is always right home for the cat!

And my most favoutire – Baloo is half brother to Milo, they have the same Mom, and first look at that picture I was like – Milo???

I start this story 2 years or so ago when Michelle called me asking for a kitten. I had first time mom expecting so Michelle put deposit on the Ragdoll kitten. The labor was hard and 2 kittens did not make it, and only 3 survived, and one of them looked totally odd with funny shaped blaze going across the nose.

Michelle picked that one even though he was one of the most mismarked kittens we produced at that time.

So Skye Blue went to live with Michelle and family and I got lots of feedback about him, including funny pictures from the facebook.

About a year later Michelle showed up again saying that now her husband wants a kitten and she is not leaving without one. Funny how things work – sometimes we do not have kittens, sometimes we have unsold kittens, but that one day Michelle showed up at our house we had one unsold boy, out of Tuck and Rumble, which was not quite ready to leave us yet. Michelle convinced me she will bring him back for second shot and left with Sully, seal bi-color boy in her hands.

Sully grew into HUGE cat. How huge he is you ask? O well, he is now 9 month old and weights 16 pounds. Mind you, he is not fat, just large and big boned. Just see for yourself!

I like this view the best

Nice show for our Purrminator – with 8 Ragdoll cats in competition he scored 3 all breed finals – 8th best from Robby Whyte, 6th best from Edith -Mary Smith and 9th best from Connie Web. Many of the judges commented on his balance – interesting how cats change – he was this wobbly boy about a month ago and progressed so much and matured nicely!

Milo, our alter out of Lillie and Rio, did 6th best in Yvonne Patricks ring, 10th best in Linda-Jean Grillo and 9th best in Melissa Parsley’s ring! way to go, Milo, against best Ragdoll alter of the last season and new star here from Kissycats cattery named Riley whose beauty we all admired during the show!

Dasha did get Junior Exhibitor of the year for NW region as well as best JE in NW, Matthew did second best JE in NW region! Hugaragdoll Fruitcake was best blue mitted ragdoll in NW region and Hugaragdoll Peaches and Cream was best seal bi-color tortie in the region. At that, Fruitcake is now Double Grand Champion and Peaches is Grand Champion, we are really proud of them!

Stella is our example of what floppy Ragdoll should be. She gets limp and kind of hangs in your hands when you pick her up. She thinks she is a dog, or rather our dogs think she is a cat, and she sometimes grooms our dogs!

Here are some of her shots – way to go, Stella!

What a weekend! We went to the ISC show in Tukwila, main goal was to get titles on our cats as well as hope to Supreme Milo, Lillie’s and Rio’s son which is 1 year old! To Supreme a cat in the show, you need to be quadrupple grand champion the day before the show and at the show get the best cat of all – i.e. one of the judges has to select your cat and nominate Best Cat award to your cat!

Now think with all the wonderful felines at the show, what is the probability your cat will get The Best in the one ring? And what is the probability to get The Best in the whole show, i.e. after summary of all the results in all rings during 2 days, your cat will be The Best?

Well, we did it! Cristina and Milo shined in ISC! 3 judges, Canie Brooks, Philippa Holmes (all the way from UK) and Tono Scarboro awarded Milo Best cat and at the end of the show as it happened, he was the best by total score! Way to go, Milo.

Look at this wonderful boy who is still very young and not even fully mature…

See the ribbon on the back? Out of 16 rings, 15 awarded him a final, and at the end Cristina, his owner, had to re-arrange the stickers as they would not fit onto the ribbon!

And here is the proud momma of Milo – all tired after 2 days of show! But what a smile!

One day I got a call from Vancouver Film School asking me for help in making shots of kittens for the CD cover for Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue. Of course, how can we pass!

So Lillie’s and Bentley’s kittens, Chance, Spot, Sassy and Sophie, being about 8 weeks old, went all the way to Vancouver for picture taking. The session was a bit hectic as we, humans, just expected them to sit still. Well, they had better ideas. Spot was the best star to start with, but later all all of the kitties were behaving and almost posing for the pictures.

Here is the famous cover and some shots I likes the most

Here are my fav pics – what a Meow mix!

This is spot with disco balls

And this picture of Chance is simply too sweet not to post!

And finally, Peaches, their Auntie, who helped making the hall home, in front of the stereo system:

Kudos to the team at VFS, especially to Janelle who organized the event, and of course to all the teachers, photographer Pardeep Singh (pardeepsinghphoto.com) and everybody who made this event possible

We were very busy those past weeks – show in Albany, OR, where we successfully championed Peaches and where Fruitcake got 2/3 on her way to grand championship. We traveled with Christina and Milo who quadruppled in Albany. And shopping, tax free shopping!

Last week we went to Cat Fanciers of British Columbia show in Cloverdale. Usually it is a big show, but this year with economy so slow less cats were entered. We thought it would be a charm, but … best Ragdoll in the world was here, two nicely built male Ragdolls from the island and here it goes – 9 Ragdolls in competition all together!

We were happy that Peaches finaled one more time, and was complimented on her head shape, and Fruitcake went ahead and DOUBLE granded, against all those famous male cats! We were very happy with the results.

And now comes a break. Lillie’s kittens are over 1 month old and I officially name the litter cutest litter on the planet. Anastasia’s kittens, born March 7th and delivery assisted by hubby opened their eyes. And what a gorgeous eyes are those. So we are busy, tired and happy after our show.

To finish this post, this is the picture we got from Milo’s parents – he and his ribbons.

I think one of the things which rarely happen in breeder’s life is a “visit your kitten” when it is older. I mean, how many people would invite me over to see how kitty is doing.

Well, some do and I have to say, I am always happy to visit in person. Of course, we often get lots of pictures of our babies so that we can enjoy them. So you enjoy them too…

This is Keesa which lives in Coquitlam, and on the picture she is 9 pounds of weight being only about 10 month old! How is that?

Pretty large girl, what do you think? goes well with “we want a girl because they grow smaller”, well, my biggest cat ever is a girl, Anastasia, and Keesa is btw her daughter… and was literally the runt of the litter.

This is a picture of Sasha which lives on the Vancouver island. Isn’t she cozy with her remote? (she is under 1 year of age on the picture) – she is out of Misty and Rio

And if you wonder how Sasha looked when she was young – here she is as a kitten along with Jessica (Misty and Suede’s daughter)

and this is a picture of Fry, little kitten Fry whose picture won Kodak Pet Contest, well here he goes as big adult cat (he is out of Coco and Suede) and is definitely over 3 years old on the picture

Yes, I say, you can, just some cats will do things natually and some will stubbornly try to outsmart you! For instance, I used to call each cat by name before giving the nice warm scratch behind the ear. Those who liked it, will come to me, of course, those who did not care for it, well, they would just ignore me.

Here is the picture of Mocca, our dog, doing “down” command. To make long story short, I had 3 volunteers for the down – left to right, Fruitcake, Mocca and Lillielime.

At the same time, those who did not care for my best efforts to teach, well, took some time off (pictures is Anastasia)
